Summer Solstice is a time of rituals and celebrations in many cultures.
A time to rejoice in the sun that warms our earth and helps to nourish our plants. It is the longest day of the year and a celebration of light and fertility.
For writers, it is a time to reflect on what you have achieved. To sit back and take stock of your writing to date, to feel into your own creativity and explore new ideas. Allow seeds to be planted and give them time to grow.
Sometimes, as writers, we need to step back from our work, to give space to the story and see what new ideas come to light. Intuitive writers do this naturally and allow themselves to be the channel or conduit for the writing muse to bring the story into the world. They are open and embrace the download of ideas that come through from the unseen source, feel the magic at this time when it is said that the veils between worlds is thin. Allow your creativity to flow. Allow the sun’s rays to breathe life into your mind’s eye and set your imagination on fire.
Perhaps it is time now to stop forcing and taking contrived action to hit goals, and instead, choose to merely be an observer today and watch what gems of inspiration appear for you.
Wishing you all a blessed Summer Solstice or Midsummer, and surrender to the muse and see what marvels unfold for you and your writing, you might be pleasantly surprised.
